School Run Mums.
Like the one who drove head on straight into me on my side of the road. She said she didn't even see me as the Sun was in her eyes and the first she knew of the accident was when she felt the impact.
At least her insurance admitted fault and paid 100% of the claim .
Yes I am......bathroom painted....bit more to do on hall, stairs and landing. That's a time consuming job......and tarting up other bits while the brushes are out.

You finished now?
Ahh...Eddie's reminded me of the girl who crashed into me while I was parked in a car park reading a paper.

She tried to get away but was stopped by another motorist. She stormed towards me, pointed to her car and asked me how I expected her to see out of the rear window! The car was piled to the roof with her belongings from university....as she kept repeating.

So...stupidity caused that "accident".
It looks like a lot of different causes on different occasions, but if you look at the causes-of-the-causes it very often turns out to be impatience in one guise or another that's behind an accident.
The devil incarnate.
alcohol/drugs and OWLS
all sorts of things, but the main ones i would think would be misjudgement and distraction
oh yeah, i forgot about owls. Defo owls. Damn those owls.

The term Road Traffic Accident (RTA) was changed because it was argued in court that a police officer recorded a 'collision' in an 'accident' report book it followed the person against whom the proceedings was being taken used the 'accident report book' in his defence arguing if he was involved in an 'accident' he could not be prosecuted.
The police then changed the book they recorded road 'accidents' into a 'road traffic collision book' preventing the word 'accident' being used as a defence when the person could be held responsible.
I worked for a company that had a police contract for dealing with all the local RTCs (not RTAs anymore)..2 things that became obvious was that men especialy the younger ones had accidents due to showing off taking risks etc...A majority of the female accidents were due to lack of concentration/poor judgement, we had a few fatals where the woman had driven straight out of tescos without looking !!
As a point of interest every motor bike fatal we recovered in was with big bikes and lone riders with NO cars involved, (these included a bike instructor and a police officer) most lost them on roundabouts or bends.

Chase, summer is on the way ( We hope) there is a road from a village called Gisburn to a village called Long Preston, this rod is used by the bikers to get to their eventual destination " Devils Bridge, A65 Kirby Longsdale, to see these cranks use / speed, put others at risk with the way they handle these bikes would open your eyes, without doubt every Summer one or two are either killed or badly injured.
chas, i can understand that - many women do have problems with this sort of thing at certain times of the month - becoming scatty, unable to concentrate, easily distracted etc.

its frustrating. i don't suffer majorly with it, but have on occasion realised that i am 'not with it' while driving and stopped asap.

i think also things like food intolerances, life events, medication probably add to that, 'not with it' thing
TWR,
i get a bit niggled when bikers seem to blame most accidents on car drivers, i have seen the results 1st hand and like i said in over 10 years i can only remember one serious RTC involving a car and that bike was doing in excess of 100mph (in a 50 !)
..not anti biker by any means but i have seen to many end results..
Acording to the police there is no such thing as an accident on the road, it is now called a Road traffic collision meaning some idiot has made a bad decision!
