I remember some years ago a guy being stopped on the M6 for carrying 5 or 6 sofas on his car roof, one on top of each other - the resulting photo used on Midlands Today was amazing, but doesn't appear to be anywhere online.

one of the lesser younger presenters in the 1980s (Richard ???) had something of a dry delivery. he once described a road miscreant as having "driven so fast over a hump-backed bridge near Pelsall that he left tyre tracks on the roof of an oncoming car"

LOL, I know that bridge well, mushroom. wasn't me though, honest.
Hi Tony, on an overloading post, many years ago when Artic's were running single tyres on the trailors, the police could tell by experience if the trailor was overloaded by looking at the twin tyres, "Michlins" were know as kissing tyres.
