4X4 Recommendations

Hi, looking to buy a second-hand 4x4.
Anyone have any recommendations whether Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Landrover, Mitsubishi etc are the best, and why?

Only thing about Japanese is the parts can be a bit steep when they do go wrong.

For Example a Pajero alternator's about £300 about double a Freelander's

The best off roader is a land rover/range rover, however it's not the best all round. I'd say the best all round is an XC90. Hyundai, Mitsibushi, NO, honda probably no, Nissan Xtrail OK, Landcruiser pretty good but not as good as LR/RR off road, X5 lovely but off road forget it, cayenne ugly, rubbish off road not too bad on road as long as it's the 4.2. Merc ML range, see X5. Q7 hopeless in most areas but looks good. In your situation XC90 all day long.
