Well earlier on this pm washed my bedroom windows ie washed them then polished them up. I used the little portable stool to reach high up and when I was tackling second bedroom window - crash, bang wallop broke the stool into pieces. Had to use steel ladders. Gawd toooooo heavy!

Stool was only about one foot high so just landed on two feet like a bloody elephant.
STEEL ladders? Sure they're not aluminium? Steel would be REALLY heavy!
Question Author
gingebee - aluminium - I call them steel. They were years ago.
We've got a little step ladder we use indoors - only three steps but it does the trick.
Your not to heavy Conne, the portable stool was faulty ;-)
Question Author
thanks AV - I have those steps outdoors - mind you very rusted - need a new pair. Reading upon this post you would think I am gigantic. Need to lose 1 stone for next year's wedding - this is a must wedding. But will do it.

Tony Av - I do think stool hasn't been used in about 3 years and I think "heat" melted them. "truly".
Those silly little plastic steps are useless, I am a short@rse, and I use a 2 step ally one.
Could have turned brittle also, Conne.
Question Author
hi tony that is the one I broke LOL
Conne, theres a few different types on there, how about the folding metal type.
Question Author
Hi Tony viewed your link and whilst the majority of the wee stools are plastic - I found the "metal" on - but however, I view it I don't think I could reach that high ie up to the step if you get me. May be able to get my foot on the wee rung LOL - Maybe "step" might not be too high. Thanks Tony - will look at it again and see how high. saw another one too like a wee tiny mini laddy for £5 - but it was collection only.
I would go for metal if I were you Conne, more robust.
Question Author
"more robust" Tony just like me.
Thats not what I mean't Conne lol, less likely to collapse on you.
