Someone told me that the yellow boxes you see at roadsides are not all speed cameras.

the rectangular 'landscape' shaped ones are the speed cameras - but the ones that are taller and shaped more 'portrait' are for traffic monitoring

is this true?

thanks

Watch out for the 'Still Life' ones though joko !
If they are yellow then they are speed camera boxes - not all boxes have cameras all the time in though ...

Traffic Monitoring boxes are smaller and usually grey or blue.
'Landscape' cameras are usually Gatso speed cameras, whereas 'portrait' ones are Truvelo speed cameras. Traffic flow cameras usually look more like the security cameras that you see on banks, Government offices, etc.
