I didn't realise that Insurance Tip from @DJHawkes was more widely available. You have to think long-term. I too achieved a considerable net saving over 5-years by continuing with "Fully Comprehensive" plus "Breakdown Cover" plus "Protected No Claims" plus "Legal Cover". This lark of changing your Insurance Company every year to get reduced premiums is...

Keep the tyre pressure at the right level. Not sure I do much else.
Walk as much as possible.
Don't go out much.
Shop around for car insurance.
Try to do basic fixes myself.
Buy budget tyres.
walk
Tyre Pressures
Empty as much out of the boot as I dare.
Driving technique. No fierce acceleration and read the road ahead to anticipate stops and braking etc.
Change up earlier and reduce load on the engine.
Try not to get lost! Plan ahead.

I should do all of these and I'm sure my fuel consumption would fall, but where's the fun in that??
errmmm nothing.
Drive it less.
Spend £60 in Sainsburys to get 10p off a litre
I didn't buy a Maserati
All the above - but might have second thoughts on using budget tyres.
Use a motorbike ...
Sit in it on the drive and make brmm noises.
dave - a moped?
Do without
Keep the dogs on a diet, to limit total weight carried, the 2 of them weigh in at 14 stone, and no hanging their heads out the window as it increases resistance
;o)
my car tax reduced by swapping to a smaller engine, only £74.25 for 6 months now instead of £121 or so with the vauxhall, my insurance company give free AA breakdown cover and it's cheaper to go fully comp for some reason, I also collect nectar points and texaco stars, the nectar points i collect on ebay really add up and I've managed to get about £10 free petrol from sainsburys in the last 3 months, i also use my tesco vouchers for petrol, i had a £5 texaco voucher this month too but they take along time to add up to 500.
My car sailed through it's M.O.T. which cost £40 which is cheaper than some places.
stroke the bonnet and plead for it to work, or call the AA
