I wouldn't know what to do with a spare part :-)
I find ebay useful
A good scrapyard is a good place. Replaced my wife's heating matrix and saved £150. Though I only changed it because it was easy.
I live that to my mechanic.
What Evian said.
Same as cazzz, I find ebay very useful.
If I want new parts I'll usually try Europarts as they're near me, a bit disorganised but not too bad.

If the price is daft and I want second hand there's a big recycler near me called ASM who are very good - once got 4 alloy wheels with almost new tyres there for £125!

For Wing mirrors I can recommend www.wingmirrorman.co.uk

And I found a very good guy down in Portsmouth who did a very rapid turnaround fixing an alternator at half the price of a reconditioned one-off the shelf

http://www.alternatorman.co.uk/ (don't think they're connected)
Must show this to the chauffeur.
I have just bought a replacement rear tail lamp unit for my 2000 Renault Scenic for £10.00 + postage from:- http://www.renault-spares.co.uk/index.asp

It cleaned up as good as new. I dread to think what a new one would have cost.
I once looked for spare parts in exchange and mart. It led to finding my husband as well as brake shoes.
