how do you switch off the passanger side air bag on an audi A4 SE (R) 1998 so i can put child seat in front of vehicle.

I would say it isn't possible to switch off because it's a safety feature.  The best thing to do is check with an Audi garage; questions are free! :)
Have a look in the glove box....I know the VW Passat has a key switch in there to turn off the airbag and as Audi is the same company they may do it the same as VW.
Stick them in the back and don't worry about airbags.  I think that most airbags usually have a residual charge left in them if switched off anyway so they may still fire.

Thanks guys, in answer to the VW (A) no they dont have a key or switch :o(, the chap who said put em in the bk, they are at the mo, the problem is there is no leg room bk there and i now look like mr bean when drivin! And as for Audi dealers, they dont advise it, and wont tell me how to, although they would be happy to bill me �200 notes for there skilled mechanics to probaly pull a fuse ! Thanks again.
