I would imagine they would. However, they have my sympathy.
As above.
Ditto
They probably will unless things have changed dramatically. When I was in the RAF anybody who didn't have breakfast and then fainted on parade were charged with a self inflicted injury.
Unfortunately when you join up you have to face the fact that you may have to go to war!!!
Proving injuries to be self-inflicted must be difficult.
Catch 22
i agree that when you sign on the dotted line you go where your commanders tell you, and if not then you would be up on a charge.
However i have every sympathy for the service personnel out there, it's not a war, more a guerilla offensive which they have little or no chance of winning. Get them home soonest and start to parley..
vulcan the 'fainting on parade' as far as i recall was due to not having breakfasst because they were hammered the night before which was the self-inflicted injury, not having breakfast was just a side effect lol
this is reportedly supposed to have happened alot in WW1 in an era where anyone fou nd to have done this would have been shot.
“Of course there are genuine accidents but there is also a proportion, and it seems to be growing, of soldiers who have deliberately wounded themselves to leave theatre.” says a senior officer.

I always find it chilling that people in charge of the lives and deaths of soldiers and civilians can use such callous impersonal terms like 'theatre' for a war zone, and 'collatoral damage' for civilian deaths.

Maybe you need to distance yourself from the reality of what you are doing in order to be able to sleep at night.
aybe you need cu
Can't really see the scale of the problem from this article, the figures a re buried. The 6000 touted includes injuries, pregnancies etc as mentioned above so means nothing.

As pointed out above. If you don't want to fight why join? 11 years we have been in there so its pretty obvious what will happen if you do join.
