I've just had an e-mail from AnswerBank about a Jimmy Saville post which, although I read the comments, I've avoided getting involved on this particular subject. I have asked a question tonight, but it was placed in the technology section!

The e-mail to me reads as follows:

Dear wiltsman, You have received a response to a thread you are
subscribed to on The AnswerBank, titled: "Re: Jimmy Saville"

To visit the thread, follow the link below:
http://www.theanswerb.../Question1177785.html

If you find this answer helpful, please remember to leave a note of
thanks at the bottom of the thread!

Has anyone else had this sort of thing happen to them?

You might have accidentally clicked on the Subscribe tab at the bottom of the post.

I believe the email will give you the option to unsubscribe.

Yes, you have subscribed to a thread and received a notification that someone has posted on to it.
i have just got email from ab but no mention of jimmy saville
Maybe you've accidentally clicked over the 'subscribe' area while reading the thread. I've seen other ABers ask a similar question in the past. Just click unsubscribe.
That's because you are not subscribed to the thread pug
thanks squarebear
Are you Jimmy Saville?

If not, it's most likely to be that you've subscribed to the thread.

Many thanks EcclesCake, that obviously what I must have done.

Thanks also to others who've pointed this out.
If you click on MY profile you'll see a tab for 'Threads I'm Subscribed to'. It sounds as if the Jimmy Saville thread will be on your list. If you are subscribed to it and don't want to be you can clock the Unsubscribe option
