Bought a rock cake from Greggs - I did not expect it to be literally that !!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Hi, Greggs do not bring out any old stuff from the day before if they have anything left over at the point of closing, they will advise the staff to take a bite of out pretty much everything and then put in the bins outside. They do this so the local homeless people don't go and help themselves.... If that's the case then why don't Greggs do the right thing and send all the of these products to the needy?

Jesus people are going hungry and they do that?? I worked in a shelter where the homeless would come in very underweight and ill with malnutrition, and associated illness (scurvy, body lice, sores enlarged body organs-scary). All they needed was charity from someone to give them something that would be binned elsewhere!
Exactly Firewatch! I thought it was absolutely disgusting of them to do that and even encourage the staff to take bites out of the food so the poor homeless people couldn't even salvage that, not that they should do that of course. Greggs et al should be made to give the food away that they can't sell.
Some friends of ours used to have a small cafe/general shop and they had an "agreement" with some guys from a charity anything that was still ok but could not be kept overnight was wrapped up and put in marked bin bags just to one side of the bins which left the charity with a food donation and my friends with deniability
