How much would it cost me to buy a set of radio removal keys for my 1993 Ford Escort 1.4L Estate? I want to removed the original fittiment stereo. Unless someone has a better way.............(apart from brute force and ignorance!)

the proper keys are very cheap, just a couple of quid from halfords and the like. but, find a metal coathanger and cut two straight peices from it about three inches long. bend thses into a letter u shape and push them into the holes on either side of the stereo's front. push out wards on the wire and gently pull forward on them. the stereo should slide out. good luck!
