is when people make a 'witty' remark and then don't come back to fight it out. There are a few people who drop their acerbic comments and when challenged, don't bother to respond.

Not me i hope, iam sarcastic but hopefully not acerbic, keep thinking of aspic wen i see acerbic!
Not handbags at dawn then, Tilly.
So do I Tony, so do I. I wonder if it's the same person.
he who fights and runs away will live to fight another day!
I'm 100% sure it is micmac.
I'm 100% sure it is micmac.

I feel an essay on the use of the comma coming on...
a sure sign that they do not have the guts or brains for an honest duel
What really annoys me is fatty doing the most rancid farts, its horrendous, can you get a but plug air freshner?
But he doesn't fight jno. He makes his comments and then leaves. When others answer, he is hiding behind the bus shelter. Not to bee seen again on the thread. He then moves to another thread and does it all again.
Mcfluff you are not alone, the dogs got hold of some cheap dog biscuits this morning and they are going through, very smelly the other end!
one that whistles when in use? You might be able to get different ringtones
mcfluff.

has your meal arrived yet?
jno. Don't be so pedantic!
Yep we've eaten, hes now expressing his enjoyment. I like the ring tone idea
Did you get yours ok ex?
ah well, this is the internet, not the real world; people come and go and fall asleep or get called away to put the rubbish bins out. Not everyone comes back to the same thread over and over to get into deep arguments.
LOL @ jno 19.42.
yes, thank you very much.

now having a bit of dessert ... my own home-made bread and butter pudding - with custard. would you like some?

(and a glass of sherry)
micmak, I thought that was an excellent illustration of the need for commas.

"I'm 100% sure it is micmac"

is so very different from

"I'm 100% sure it is, micmac".

The first accuses you of vile offences, the second merely discusses them with you.

Far be it from me to guess which one he really meant!
