VW Polo - ESP light

My Polo is under 2 years old, with low mileage (10,000). I noticed that the ESP light came on today just as I was about to run the car into my garage. This has never happened before. Is it indicative of a potentially expensive problem?

What does the owner's manual say illumination of this light signifies? On my Vectra the ESP light comes on when the system is working, ie when it is shifting power around to avoid wheelspin.
If your 2 year car is still in warranty and you think it is malfuctioning get it repaired free.
Agree with Toureman- VAG cars come with a three-year warranty; let the dealer sort it out without charge.
Extra sensory perception? Blimey, Volkswagens are well equipped!
...on my car the ESP light comes on, if you switch the ESP OFF. You haven't accidentally pressed the ESP button, have you?
