Why do some cars have the blue GB EU feature on the rear registration plate and others don't?

If you have it, you don't need a GB sticker if you go abroad (even though the Gendarme might insist you do!, but thats the french for you!). The GB isn't a standard fit, but can be requested when they make your plates. When we buy a new car we always ask for GB plates to be done and there is no extra cost.

Thanks for that :-)
europlate is the official name..., supposed to be for travelling abroad but so many opt for them as they think they look better than the standard plates..
its usually front & rear plates
I was annoyed when my car arrived with Europlates - I don't want the Euro flag on my car.
Same as you Hopkirk, yet something else for the eudictaorship to meddle with.

surely it would make more sense for the car to have the flag of the country its come from....oh no how silly of me the eu dont want soveriegn nation identity
you still get the letter of the country of origin, under the circle of stars.
