We have 2 cars and have a cherished number plate on 1 of them. WHat i need to do is move this registration number to the other vehicle and purchase a new cherished plate for the one that has it at the moment - i so hope you can follow that and i have explained it ok?!! How easy will this be to do and how do i go about it? I have to change them over due to the age of the vehicles and the fact that you are not allowed to make a vehicle look newer than it actually is. Thanks.

Thanks for that...........we have had the first number plate for some years and therefore are familiar with changing it over when we replace our car. It is always a bit of a task and everything has to be just so (and rightly so). But as we want to change it from 1 vehicle to another and do not want original number plate to go to that first vehicle but want to buy a new cherished plate for it how do we do that? has anyone any experience of this please?
You can put the number plate on retention, there is a fee which includes the transfer, I think it can be on retention for 12 months. Then when you get the other cherished number plate you can put put the one on the second car and the new one on the other car at the same time.
