I'm not sure what section to post this in. So please don't be too hard on me.

In our local paper in Bournemouth people have been stopped for speeding on a push bike on the promenade. I don't have a speedo on my bike so how am I supposed to know if I am speeding. If I can be checked for speeding why do bikes not have a speedo fitted as part of the bike and come to think of it. Why are bike lights not fitted as part of the bike assembly? If you drive a car you have to have lights and a speedo so why not other vehicles which use the road?

People aren't being fined for speeding, they were advised. You might not have a speedo but you know when you are gunning it down the promenade!

I appreciate that nobody has been fined yet. But surely if there are not "teeth" behind the advise the surely people are going to ignore it.

Fair comment about the cheapness of being able to replace lights but I just thought if a bike was fitted with lights then there would be no excuse for not having and therefore using lights.

It's about time the police and councils did something about push bikes, they can be a nuisance on the roads, and the majority of riders believe the laws do not apply to them.
