I have had this type of Scooter for just over 2 years. Soon after I got it, DVLA decided it must be registered so my OH and I had to queue for over 2 hours to do so and then I was sent a tax disc 'which must be displayed on the scooter'. Ever since, we have been trying to find some sort of holder for the tax disc to be displayed but without success, as all holders require to be seen through glass, or in the case of motor cycles bolted on.

Has anyone got any idea how my tax disc could be displayed so I am not breaking the law?

Get a 3 speed scooter so no one can see whether you have a tax disc or not.
Sorry about the silly answer above, you always get someone doing that when they don't have a sensible answer.

You will have to get a motorbike one fitted by your local car or bike garage by having a hole drilled somewhere on the scooter and use a bolt or screw to fit it.

Thank you, Toureman, I did choose to ignore the other reply.

It looks like I will have no option but to have something bolted to the scooter although I would prefer not to make holes on it.
Personally, I think the whole situation is ridiculous and there is always the chance someone will attempt to steal the disc.
However, I 'phoned DVLA yesterday and they hadn't a clue and said no one else had ever asked how they attach the disc.

Thank you for your input.
That quite a problem, quite a few get stolen off Motorbikes.

hi I have just read your post with intrest. can you please tel me is it only if the scooter is dual speed you need a tax disc and do you have to pay for this disc.
Thank you.

Hi Bigjugs, yes you're correct. It is only the dual speed scooter which requires to be registered but there is no charge.
stick it on you forehead when you drive it,or is this answer as pathetic as the DVLA?
