Now this is a male speaking.....but 70% of language is body language - most men just focus on the head and not the total picture. Goes back to our hunting days apparently as we needed to focus on the head of the animal. How many men have said to their partner, "How did you know x was going to react like that?"

Part of (good) sales training is to bring this into play for men............and as to listening, the following adage applies, "God gave you two ears and a mouth, use them in that ratio."

I always thought I was a good judge. listen a lot, speak a little was my motto. Then I got shafted by my boss who I had bent over backwards for. ( No sexual references please )

I think I'm a good judge of character by and large and I think that being able to judge just by observing them or speaking to them is part of it- you can't judge a book by it's cover, but you can judge it by how it behaves.

the more you speak to people the more you get to know them. I try not to make rash judgements and I try to make a balanced judgement eventually.

Probably not in my case. I've had 3 friends now in the last 5 years who have shat on my from a great height. I have thought that it may have been my fault but my boss who worked with 2 of them agrees that they are nasty pieces of work.

The 3rd one is my so-called best friend who is not talking to me since the 40th birthday invite debacle.

I am a very good judge of character - I know within a few seconds of meeting someone, if I will get on with them. I can spot a fake at ten paces and a bullsh!itter at less. It even works on here !
