This is my first foray into the "Motoring" section, so please be gentle with me.

I'm planning to buy a car in the next couple of weeks. It's a choice between the following. Does anyone have any advice? I think I have a front runner, and I've test driven all of them, but I'm interested if anyone has any views or advice. The ones I've looked at have been 1-2 years old, if that makes any difference.

In alphabetical order ...

BM X

Land Cruiser

M Class

Range Rover Sport

Shogun

Very nice Pru, but not really what I had in mind.

Why do you need a car, though ?

Bmx is a bike!lol
Range rover if you want to go to the Dealers every week!
M class Build quality poor!
shogun not bad

Cripes, Stompey ...

That is spooky. Honest ...

... that is EXACTLY what my notes say. I'm a bit taken aback.
nk, that's just naughty!

sorry Jayne, I was just having a little dig.. nudge nudge ;o)
Unless you're going off road, then you don't need any of them. They're pointless.

If you are off-roading, and by that I don't mean bumping up a verge to drop Little Timmy off at school, then the Land Cruiser is the best bet by a long shot followed by the Shogun.

Stompe, my notes were ...

Landcruiser ... best all rounder

Shogun ... not bad

BM X5 ... not serious 4WD

Range Rover ... unreliable

M Class ... build quality not good
I have black HSE sport, like this one. Once you dabble you'll never go back.

A friend of mine has the Overfinch, in pure white. I think he is a chav. Just a very wealthy one.
I do live through and with my rescuer, so to be absolutely accurate it is 'our' mazda I suppose but it does take me back to all the places I knew and loved.

Cakeboy ...

Thank you ... that's just what I thought.

The Land Cruiser was top of my list. Most people I've asked seem to agree, and most people on here seem to agree, too.
a horse and cart is the smart move
Question Author
Stompey, you're right.

The ones I've looked at are about half the price of when they were new.

I should have mentioned ... I also looked at a V10 Toareg, but by the time I got back off the test drive it needed a fresh tank of fuel, so it didn't make the shortlist, although it's lovely, and very well made.
You want Something Reliable like ME!
the Landcruiser! what do Red Cross use?
NATO Use,
Question Author
LOL cazzz ...

I'll bear that in mind.

=0)

Stompe, I think this is just reinforcing what I'd kind of decided ...

... I should go for the Land Cruiser.

I've seen them in black, silver, and a sort of gold colour. Black is nice ... a bit sexy.
