i have a Mondeo 2.5v6. The car was driving ok yesterday. Started it this morning to go to work and it made a racket. Lifted bonnet while engine was running to check and trying to identify where noise is coming from and i think its the cambelt. Now the car wont start. It turns but wont start. Is it the cambelt?

not a 100% but im fairly sure 2.5/ST24 are on timing chains, which are not replaced like cam belts but that does not mean to say they dont wear and break..
If the cambelt breaks the engine will not run.
if its the cambelt, the top pulley will not move when you turn the engine, if the cambelt has gone the engine turns over very very fast.
it is a timing chain and tensioner system...
