It's the theme music from the French film Jean de Florette (1986), composed by Jean-Claude Petit. Film stars Yves Montand and Gerard Depardieu and is a must-see.

That's as maybe - I've never seen the film. But, to be more helpful - it's bits of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody no.2 in C sharp minor.
