Wheel bearings can wear our gradually and can usually sound like a low hum when cornering left of right depending on which whell the bearing is worn.

Of course it may well be your CV joint and that can be identified in the same way, but that is usually a knocking noise when turning hard left or right.
Take it to a mechanic who knows what he's doing.
Need more info as in when, at what speed, s it when accelerating?, in certain gears?

Sounds to me like your gear box is on its way out. I had a VTR and had to replace mine 8-9months in.

You dont happen to give your car alot of hammer do you?

Have you lowered it by any chance - if so warrenty (if you have any) will not cover this - a recon box cost me 700?

Citreon charge about 1,500 if my memory serves me correctly.

Cheers
