I have purchased a ford focus 1.8 16v zetec privately and am going to pick it up on friday. The car has done 53000 miles , is a Y reg and was used to tow a boat a long distance but not regualary. I am so paranoid with cam belts as I have had 3 go on me. This time I've paid more money on a car and want it to last I have an hour and a half drive back with the car and am thinking of getting the cam belt changed immediately. Should I do this and if yes should I pay the extra money and take it to a ford dealer?
