i have an astra club 1.6l 2001 and wanted to know how many valves it has got. Cam belt has gone and i need to get some repair quotes

if spark plugs are in the middle of engine you have 16 valves. If at the front you have 8

if it is an ecotec engine its a 16 valve. if the camshaft cover says vauxhall in white writing then its the 8 valve. the 8 valve will be cheaper to repair as its easier to work on.
