my battery light stays on when driving,then starts flashing and all my dials(speed.rpm.temp.fuel)all go to zero but the car runs perfectly,any ideas? im thinking alternator,but want to be sure before i buy a new one

That or battery lead. I had a Rover years ago and the battery lead was worn - I'd drive through a puddle and the car would die! My gauges played hell and the battery light came on.

Sounds like alternator but worth checking the battery lead.
i have a problem with my battery light too - see above question. i have been told though that if it is alternator there would be a problem with the car and as yours is effecting all the other dials it may well be an electrical fault.
