You can pick up Punto's fairly cheap. We have a few at work and they seem decent enough.
A 4 door very small car will be 'boxy'. The VW Up might be a good option.
I had a punto for years. Two door, well mine was. Not that gutsy, but did the job.
Kia picanto quite good.
What David said.^^^

My daughter just bought a Kia Picanto. 7 year warranty, 4 doors, electric windows, Bluetooth, PAS, cheap to insure (she's 19) and zero road tax.
I have a Mazda 2, it is 4 door, good on fuel and a really nice shape.
206 /7 / 308 Peugeot, cheap to run eg/ repairs, fuel, Insurance, to purchase, to resell, spacious, whichever way you go Joko, make sure you ger te car checked by someone that knows a bit regards the workings of the car, Buy Cheap without history, pay out big bills, look at your local paper for bargins, do not buy from the side of the road ( No comeback)
david small , The Kia picanto and the Ford Ka are exactly the same car with different badges on them! Kia make them and put Ford badges on some and Kia badges on the rest.
Are you quite sure you don't mean that the Ka is based on the Fiat 500, EDDIE?
Citroen C1, Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo are the same car under the skin. There are lots to choose from, they are cheap and cheerful and can be serviced by independent garages.
you cant improve on a ford fiesta
Hyundai i10
I've got a Kia Picanto. I love it!
I've got a Toyota Yaris after having Nissan Micras before. Love it, but is bit wider than they were. Gotta reverse out of drive with both wing mirrors flattened which isn't best idea, I know ;)
