we took out a loan request with yes loans in june 2004, we paid the deposit and have recieved nothing, if you phone they just fob you off,we have a well paid secure job and could easily have afforded the repayments, but still nothing, at one stage we requested the deposit back  and they told us they kept it for 6 months take out their expenses then send you the rest,,since i have seen this on the net i have e mail them and they will be getting a letter asking for it to be cancelled and deposit returned,   &n bsp;

i

twice now i have unsuccesfully had a loan application accepted by yes loans, the first time my cheque was returned, after all i needed the loan because i was short of cash, i phoned them and they put me through to a company offering credit at 58%

i took this to be my fault as the cheque "bounced"

I applied again recently and was accepted, this time i paid by debit card the money was taken from my account and all was well, but no money, it is now 27th oct and nothing the money has not been paid in even though it stated that it would take 7 working days, i find myself having the same problems as other people, i was in no position to check my account at the time but withdrew money thinking that it was in my bank, my bank let me take the money and now im substantially overdrawn, incurring more and more charges all the time, what can i do, do i have any legal rights, i have a signed letter stating that the money would be transferred but nothing at all??????? any body help me with this?????

Guys, me again, just made a few calls to a few people and it would seem that they are not being exactly clear in what they state, yes loans seemingly DO NOT lend money!!!!! repeat DO NOT.....

They seem to be a brokerage company essentially. it would seem that all they do is pass your details onto a third party, at a cost......49.50 seems to be the price for selling your soul at the moment.

legally it would seem......notice i use the term seem a lot, trying not to tie myself down legally but it would seem that they get around this by using the word "arrange" on their website therefore implying that they are using third party agencies, sorry guys but it seems anybody who has had succesful dealings with them will only have done so by being reffered to another company, normally i would suspect, at a greater % APR than advertised on their application.

final point, which confuses me no end is that i have the letter in front of me and the first line actually states:

"congratulations on being succesfully accepted as a client of yes loans"

not sure what i was succesful in.

for me now christmas is looking bleaker by the day but am going to pursue this as far as i can. once again if anyone with a better legal knowledge than myself has any advice then I would be more than happy for the assistance.

thank you.

As bongy has done, please be extremely careful about what you post on this and similar threads: no accusations of illegal activity about named people or companies, please.
I have just found out the same thing as Bongy. Despite every indication otherwise, it would appear that 5 weeks after being 'successfully accepted as a client of yes loans' I haven't been accepted for a loan. The agreement form even has the loan amount, interest rate and monthly payment across it! They are very clever in the wording, because I specifically did not want someone sending my details off to lots of people for repeated rejection and making my credit history made even worse. The person I just spoke to was extremely unhelpful (funny how they were so nice while waiting for my fee..a fee incidentally that I had to give them debit card details for 3 times) and had the nerve to tell me that all this had been explained to me (most certainly hadn't been). I see from earlier posts that getting my 49.50 back may prove difficult, but I'm certainly going to try!
Hi all regarding yesloans.tv the fee they charge is as had already been said to enrol as a client of yes loans.
They are NOT a finance house they take your money and tell you they will arrange a lone through their brokers. I recieved a flyer from them through the post and thought i would give them a try the rusult was they wanted me to pay them a none refundable fee and the only loans i was offered come from companys that would phone you all hours with interest rates that where through the roof.
This may be a scam by nature but it is all legaland is just another example of what to expect when your a bit down in this country.( Like the big banks the more money you have the less you pay in charges ) My advice stay well clear unless you are despereate and can wait weeks for your loan,if you ever get one that is. They do not appear to be regulated by the FSA as they are not actually the lenders only brokers your only recourse is maybe Trading Standards or the County Court.
I would like to thank users on the site as I nearly sent my 49.50 to Yes Loans but thanks to this website I decided against it and after conducting more research I found everything that was said to be accurate. I would like to thank you all for posting you're comments and I hope other others will do the same.
I just wanted to add my comments regarding Yes Loans. I am one of the lucky ones who read this site before sending off the 'admin' fee.Out of interest i also did a 'free credit check' as a link on their site - someone phoned me back and said they could refer me to a loan company for a loan. I asked if it was Yes Loans and she said yes - i said they are just a broker and she swore blind they they were not - they were a lender as well - so as with all other comments - please be careful - they either lie to their staff regarding the service, or their staff are willing to lie to you!

just wanted to add experience we had with yes loans.my sister applied online , the following morning she was telephoned saying she could have loan and to forward 49.50 'administration costs'. as i thought this was bit dodgy i decided to see if i could find anything about them. after reading the comments on answerbank,i think we have had a lucky escape and be avoiding this company at all costs

I recently received a flyer through the door and as i am foreign and only been in the country for a couple of years my credit history is still poor. So me and the wife decided to try yes loans. After filling in the application on the internet they rung me back and I wenr t through the application again with them and lo and behold, I was accepted as a yes loans customer. I was told i need to send the 49.50 and was told I would recieve the agreement through the post. Luckily I read the points on their saying that you are not actually gauranteed a loan but that they only work as brokers. We had a lucky escape.
