I have just watched this because there was'nt much else on. I thought it was brilliant. It certainly makes you think

Not all old people are in care homes or in need of such care, the majority are living full lives in their own homes and playing bowls, bingo, singing, dancing and some are still working. Obviously, some are grumpy but most are OK. I am one of the latter.
theres a 72 year old bloke in our running club who insists on running about 10 miles every sunday, and he does it without killing himself, eg never seems out of puff

So am I but it still makes you think.I am working practically full time voluntarily for a charity and I'm lucky, i have a great family but it still played on my mind a bit. Also it was a nice care home . I have seen and been told about some awful places.
I know one guy in the US - over 70s world champion for 1 mile and can still thump out a circa 5 minute mile. And a mate of mine, his ma was 94 and playing 9 holes of golf. The current Hon Lady Pres of Rochester Golf-Club is 82 and I think plays to a 16 handicap
I like the fact that those young people were happy to be with the oldies. I only saw a clip of the programme this morning and I was impressed, the man with Parkinsons seemed to be a happy person because of the interaction with the young man and his music.

I did tell my grandson that his bum looked nice in his new jeans and he said grandma, thats creepy. This is the same boy who when his mum was away for the weekend complained that he had to eat his cereal out of a cup because there were no clean cereal dishes. They were all in his bedroom
