The only time I ever felt any sympathy for Henry VIII was when he was so overwhelmed with grief at the infidelity of Katherine Howard that he arranged for the Royal Assent to the Act of Attainder to be signed by someone else so that he personally did not send her to the block.
I really wish one of the television companies would make a decent series about the Plantagenets - fascinating stuff - or the Hanovarians even- or any other Royal house. It's always the Tudors - and as much as I like that period in history, I really do think there's a limit.
He yearned for a son and when a son arrived he was sickly and didn't live to achieve what Henry wanted him to. If there is such a thing as life after death I hope he saw Elizabeth do him justice. I believe she is the greatest monarch that ever lived.
It would be great if they did Naomi. The Planatagenet era is a very long one and so many interesting events to be told. Edward II would raise a few eyebrows I would imagine.
Not accurate I agree but well done and interesting. Its nice to see something other han the inane soaps. Another very good series was ROME...anyone know what what happened to the proposed new series?
