My nan and mum both use  the expression 'stone blanc' to describe something that has gone cold.eg: This tea's gone stone blanc. Does anyone else know this termor where it comes from ??

A ‘stone blank’ is a thick stone of a suitable size and configuration for refining into a two-sided stone tool, associated with prehistoric societies. Any archaeologists in your family?

Thankyou for your reply CT as far as I know not any archeologists, they were originally cockneys and my late grandfather was a glass blower? Don't know if either of those points are relevant?. :-)
