Do advertising firms have to state that they are usaing a look alike or impersoantor to endorse the product they are selling?

Yes as it's an offence to mislead the viewer - I remember Bobby Davro doing a churchill Ad and impersonating Cliff Richard and a little caption flashed up "using the voice talents of Bobby Davro" Talent - yeah right !

If a person endorsed something thats fine but if YOU are led to believe that they have and they havent then that's wrong.

Even on Surprise Surprise they stated in the credits that it was Kate Robbins singing the theme tune and not Cilla Black - to me I'd have thought they would want to hide the fact !!
