does anyone else out there remember a programme that used to be shown in the early 70's on ITV. It would have been around 5 - 5.30PM on week nights and lasted around 5-10 mins.

It was called DAILY FABLE. There as an Owl who told the story but the story ran together for a few nights. He aways winked at the end.

There was a catchy little song that went with it - HELLO THERE MR OWL WHAT'S HAPPENING TODAY IN FABLE LAND.

At the end the Owl always said "NOW HEADS UNDER WINGS, ALL EYES CLOSED, GOODNIGHT.

Ive never met anybody else who remembers watching it. At aged 2 I used to say "I want to see the wee man with the winks", as the owl always winked when he said goodnight.

It was a five minute puppet show.

There were two brothers who were woodworking beavers or some such; a wolf called Boris and a rabbit called Zippy the Hare.

Thanx ethel. Didn't know it was a puppet show as I was too young to remember that detail. I just remember the Owl and I did remember someone called Boris. I used to watch it after my tea. I think it was on just before Crossroads as my paretns watched that without fail.
The two beavers were called Bert and Fred and used to say 'Oakie dickie dokie Bert' 'Oakie dickey dokie Fred'. I STILL say it now, all the time and no one has a clue what on earth I am talking about! Thanx for the memory!
