Barbra Windsor - family tree program

When I was a kid in school in the 80's there was a girl who claimed her gran was Barbra Windsor. This girl's surname was Golding. On the program 'Who Do You Think You Are', Barbra Windsor traced her family back and when she found the name Golding in her family, she was shocked (and moreso that she was jewish!) I'm not sure whether that girl was telling fibs back then or if Babs is bending the truth a little, or just a coincidence?

It could well be true.

Your school friend's family may have been aware of the family connection to Barbara Windsor, but that does not automatically mean that Barbara was aware of them.

Barbara Windsor never had any children so this girl cannot be her grandchild.
