Would you ever appear on any of these shows to discuss your problems, for instance like your husband/wife was sleeping with someone else. Personally i wouldn't want every Tom, DIck and Harry knowing my business.

i think its a certain type of people who go on this and without meaning to sound snobby they seem pretty uneducated most of them you dont often see a lawyer or director of a company or anything like that on there - these programmes kind of prey on vulnerable people - and Jeremy Kyle has to be the most smug person i have ever seen but I still watch it!
Maybe lawyers and business folk pay for counselling rather than do the free TV version?
Maybe Jeremy Kyle charges 250 per hour in his 'private clinic', lol.
Sometimes it looks as if those people are so shell shocked they aren't even aware there is an audience, let alone thinking straight enough to remember people will watch them on TV too.
Maybe they've been sleep deprived, starved of food and played white noise to disoreintate them, then a researcher 'riles them up' before going on stage-maybe this is why they act so odd when on TV confronting someone?
That's enough 'maybe's for 1 question....
Bring Back Rikki Lake-somehow the Americans do this sooooo much better!

Why have a private meeting with a professionally trained counsellor about your marriage/gambling/wayward teenager/debt problems, when you could go on national television and be shouted at like an errant toddler by a sanctimonious glorified DJ with all the sincerity of a praying mantis? ;-) I guess some people just want to be on telly, no matter how silly it makes them look.

I must admit though, it's a great show to watch if you want to feel better about yourself!
I hate it when they do the dna test and follow up on another day - I only see it when off work and then I lose sleep worrying about the parentage (not!) but would be nice to get result on same show! God I;m sad cant believe i let it worry me.

I hate Ricki Lake but love that old ginger american woman who looks like someones secretary cant remember name
Aww thats Sally Jessy Raphal, I used to love watching her programs too Memore.
Tralier Trash Trisha! :o)
I agree with the "why would you................?" feelings, but I'm also another who agrees with Memore that these progs can be addictive! :o)

Personally, I agree with a lot of what JK says to people on his show. At least JK gives both parties a blast (if it is needed). He's much better than Trisha who comess down on the men regardless of whether they are the "victim" or the "perpetrator"!

Another thing that makes me smile only seems to happy on the Jerry SPringer Show (I know, trailer trash TV!!!!!!!!!!). Whenever someone brings their partner out to tell them that they have been unfaithful, they ALWAYS start off by saying, "you know I love you............................."! :o)
I saw Jeremy Kyle the other day for the first time in ages and I had to put the subtitles on so I could understand what the people were saying, I'm far from being stuck up but I find myself looking down on the people who appear on such shows, I just don't see why they'd put themselves through it!

Memore, I'm the same, I wish they didn't do follow up shows, I want to see the results there and then!!

Sally Jessy Raphael was fab!!
have you noticed that most of the people who appear on jeremy kyles show havent got any teeth?
And they all say "at the end of the day....." in every sentence and another fave is "...I love you to bits...."

And sometime they say the two together "At the end of the day, I love you to bits"
they also 'turn around' to say things to each other.......i turned around and said....then he turned around to me and said....
if your partner asked you to go on such a show, i mean who the hell would?
Never never never even though they film it 2 mins from where I live (that's probably not something to shout about is it?).
