Still need to know the incidental music from the prog - someone suggests john barry - i've been told the duke is its name.......it's the funky/hammondy music... anyone...? please...?

It could be the very funky acid jazz act The James Taylor Quartet (jtq). Their music has been used frequently for TV programmes and trailers, especially their version of the theme from Starsky & Hutch.
this is doing my head in too. I know the music is used in a sequence in the Ted Danson/ Macaulay Culkin masterpiece 'Getting even with dad', and therefore the title of the song would be in the end credits. Hope this helps.
I've been told by the Bargain Hunt office at the BBC that the tune played over the credits at the end of daytime Bargain Hunt is "Horny Baby" composed by Dust Devil. However it was specially recorded and not commercially available. I think the hunt ends there!

click on: Get Trax
then: X Series
then: Composers
Then: Scroll and then click on Dust Devil
finally, on the right hand side, scroll to the bottom, and click on Horny Baby, click the Play button, the triangle.

To get this you can record it using a programme called Audacity
