Because it's not considered "mature" or "adult" to confess to being gay. The watershed is for material that is considered mature or adult.

I've no idea but I most definitely hope that they did. At least 5% (and probably more like 10% or greater) of children will grow up to be gay. It's essential that they (and all other children) are shown that it's perfectly normal, totally acceptable and to be fully embraced by society as a whole.
