Z Cars Police Woman's Name ?

Hi does anybody know the real name of the actress who was a police woman in Z Cars. ? She also appeared in TV adverts for crossing the road safety adverts in the 60's with her real life daughter in it.The daughter was called Katy or Katie and I played with her a couple of times. Thanks in advance.

When I saw the question title the theme tune to the series popped up in my head. I watched it as a child.
