Did anybody else watch this documentary on Ch4 this week ? After the painful exercise that I went through to watch it, perhaps Ch4 should have re-titled it "Angry, White and Stupid"

What an indictment of our education system over the last 30-40 years it proved to be. Within minutes of it starting, these stupid white men were using the F word in front of a little girl, and it went even more downhill after that. I thought that the Policemen featured in the program showed remarkable restraint, having to deal with these slobs.

Yes absolutely disgusting, but why mention they were "stupid white men" would you have bothered putting "stupid black men" if they had happened to be black?

Not sure why you can't watch this Naomi...does your problem extend to the BBC I player and the ITV Iplayer as well ? I have AdWatch installed on my PC and as a result, I don't see any advertising at all here on AB, but I can still use the iplayers.

AOG...yes, I would have said stupid black men, if the documentary had been about them, but it wasn't. It was about a splinter group from the now ridiculed, disgraced and largely disbanded EDL.

They were almost 100% men, and two of them were from mixed race backgrounds, Irish, Italian and Cypriot, if my memory serves me correctly.

But all will become apparent AOG, when you watch the documentary. Even your beloved DM thought that it was shocking !

Its obvious from watching the program, that 30 or 40 years ago, most of the older members of the splinter group would have been football hooligans. One of them admitted as much. To paraphrase his words, removing the expletives, he said something like ::

I ******* hate ******* Muslims, even more than I ******* hate ******* West Ham supporters, and that's saying something "

Mikey, I think not. It’s not a problem to me. I get the gist.

Apart from the bad language and the fact that fundamentalist Islam is making itself all too evident in western society – and not in a good way - there doesn’t appear to be much between the two factions. They’re all promulgating a far right philosophy and they’re all happy to hurt the people with whom they disagree. I can only conclude that since one is deemed stupid, so too must the other be judged.
