i know there is another post about this, sorry but why has it taken so long?
probably to allow those ex cast members to all be free to appear for funeral?
And episodes are made weeks in advance of showing. I believe the official line is that because she was so respected they wanted to do justice to her and and needed time for that so did not rush it through the storyline.
Bloody 'ell - Terry Duckworth's back too!

Is that same Gordon? I was expecting someone else.
Bill Kenwright has not had a good few days has he
I have just checked and today's Gordon is the original but someone else played Gordon for a while.
Does anyone think that Terry Duckworth (Nigel ?) looks very like Raymond Burr who played Ironside or is it just me? rosy
Not sure, would have to see him in a wheelchair Lol.
Terry Duck egg has put a lot of weight on. I believe he is opening a lap dancing club. He is also gonna try to fleece his on of his inheritance.
Betty the character did not pass away ages ago.

Betty Driver died in October and it is right that the reality for her family and friends is separated from the death of a fictional character she played.

In addition it would have been intolerable for the cast of Coronation Street, many who had known Betty Turpin for years, to act out a bereavement shortly after death.
I would agree that 6 months can be classed as 'ages ago'.....far long enough or the Ac-torrs, to get a grip, and do what they do best.....'act '
Thats a bit harsh curly - It must be quite sad for the cast as they are really mourning the actual loss of a friend and colleague, I read a report which said they really struggled with the filming and had to take numerous breaks as they were so upset.
I agree Anne, they have shown respect for Betty.

Coronation street seems to be the future place to open restaurants and clubs, the Bistro is always busy for a working class back street community and now they are opening a lap dancing club, as if?
Question Author
now i know, ta, the lap dancing club is a daft idea, whoever thought that one up should realise what coronation street is like, and it's inhabitants..
hc4361 - well put.
I think they should have brought Bet back for the funeral
She could have caused a rift between Denis and Rita
I should write the scripts
ditto, respectful break and yes terry duckworth actor really looks ill to me!

cath x
Never mind ironside, he's the double of Bernard Manning. That must be why I HATE him I'm a life long fan and have forgiven them many things, but bringing Terry back may just be the straw that breaks my back.so to speak!
