not necessarily, carolegif - sometimes the ending "o" is used when attaching one word to another, like Anglo-Saxons (they were Angles, not Anglos). So Afro-Americans is one term sometimes used

Not that it will bother the OP much, he seems to have vanished.

I not sure I understand your question. Afro is both a hair style and it also means those that are descendant from Africans, ie African Americans or Afro Americans.
