I don;t really understand what makes this child's playing with paint 'art', when other children doing the same thing are just children playing with paint.

I try hard not to be a Philistine, but on days like this, it's tricky.

I never once looked at the paintings my children and grandchildren have done by splashing different coloured paints onto paper and thought they were a work of art.

This is definitely The Emperors' New Clothes, isn't it? I always think there's an element of that with so-called artists, especially the abstract gubbins.
