Did anyone watch Doctor Who tonight?

I certainly found it hard to watch because (compared to the last episodes with the old Doctor) it was BORING! The Doctor didnt do every much apart from sleep and have a sword fight that justs happens to save the world!! I'm sorry but that was VERY disappointing!!

I hope that the new series is not as boring.

the last series was amazing with a wonderful Doctor!!!! why on earth Chris left, i dont know! but i wish he hadnt left! Doctor Who is nothing without Chris E!!

I thought it was really good! Was a bit worried about David Tennant (based on his past performances), but he certainly seems to have dialled it down a bit - unlike Eccleston, who (despite being a good actor normally) seemed to play the part like someone who had snorted half a kilo of cocaine and was trying to win first prize in a gurning contest.

The Xmas tree was a bit iffy, but the mentions for the new spin-off show "Torchwood" were intriguing, and there weren't any of the "ooh look at me, I can put gay references into a teatime show" bits that plagued the last season. Whilst it wasn't anywhere near the standard of my current (currently running) fave SF show - Battlestar Galactica - it was quite promising.

I really enjoyed it, didnt like the last series. lots going to be happening in the new series.
We thouroughly enjoyed it. The doc had to sleep as he was regenarating but boring? Nah great stuff:--)))

Like the others I prefer this doctor to the last one.

The ending was a bit iffy though, earthlings totally destroying an alien craft!

I thought David Tenant was superb, and will get better with time (Pun Intended), but the story line was lousy. I am sure the scripts will improve though.

i thought the sword fight was totally naff but otherwise the episode was good.

personally,i thought eccleston made a brilliant doctor.i would certainly put him up there alongside my favourite - tom baker.

I agree with mattk...Christopher Eccleston was a fab doctor...right up there with Tom Baker!

But i wouldn't write Mr Tennant off...i think he could join the esteemed ranks of Baker and Eccleston...it was just a bit of a slow start that's all. I think he'll be great!

David Tenant is really bad!!! im sorry but how can u say he is any good? Eccleston is a lot better. He was funny, good-looking and an excellent actor. Tenant is just the opposite! BRING BACK THE OLD DOCTOR!!!

I thought it was absolutely fantastic! Only thing worth watching on the telly this Christmas and David Tennant is remarkable. Handsome, funny, quirky, a fabulous actor and so goddamn sexy!! Do you remember how long it took to get used to Eccleston? I have fallen in love with Tennant from the off. Even the rest of the cast seem to bounce off his energy and there is a beautiful chemistry between him and Rose. PS. Who thinks long coats and suits are gonna be highly fashionable again?
maisy, were we watching a different show ? i thought it was one of the best i have seen . i was very apprehensive about david tennant after watching him in secret smile and casanova ,but all i can say is wow!! what a doctor! i am hooked -line and sinker , disappointing? -no , boring ? far from it ,just look into those eyes how can you resist?
HI Maisy, I really enjoyed it! I have enjoyed the different traits of every doctor as each one offers something different. It came joint 2nd with Coronation Street in the Christmas Day ratings (9.4 Million) not bad.
