Radio 4 volume

Is there a reason why the volume on Radio 4 (analog and digital) is lower than other channels- I just got a new car radio and have to increase it by 8 points to get the same as other stations so I can now say it's approximately a third lower than them.

Reduce the bass settings on your radio, and/or increase the treble settings. You'll magically find that the volume levels of Radio 4 match those of music stations. Thanks, I'll try that although will have to fiddle each time I change channels as I haven't got dedicated buttons, but hope it does the job although actually involves more work than increasing the volume!
