Why does h say "mangetout"?

I don't listen very often, so have probably missed out on the in-joke?

cant say ive heard it that often but i suspect its something that 'Del' used to say to 'Rodney' off only Fools and Horses in a way that he thinks hes speaking 'French'?? Like: "Mangetout, Rodney, mangetout!" Meaning "Of course Rodney, Of course!" this is probably not the reason ..........but its the only one i can think of!?
but of course chaise longue, chaise longue!
