Read today that Tony Blackburn will be taking over as presenter of Sounds of the Sixties, but the powers-that-be are moving the programme to 6am - 8am. Who on earth is going to be listening then? - though I daresay it will be repeated in one of the midnight slots vacated by Long and Lester. What a shame they got rid of Brian Matthew, who was ready to continue, and I'm afraid I for one will no longer be listening, as absolutely cannot stand Blackburn: Smashie and Nicey rolled into one.

Glad I didn't listen :((
He did read out some tweets /emails from people saying how great it was to hear Arnold back on the radio. Barking mad. I wonder how many tweets he didn't read out saying bring back Brian Matthews or at least someone who puts the music first
Had a look earlier on at Radio 2 weekend schedule. What a load of rubbish. Apart from Huey Morgan (12-3am Saturday morning) and Clare Teal (Sunday evening) I won't be going anywhere near the station.
well said brainiac they have thoroughly spoiled a Saturday morning, who wants to be up at 6am on the weekend. Dermot Oleary no thanks his music is not bad but he witters too much between songs
Aye, midnight 'til 3am, a much more listener-friendly time slot.
I'll listen to it at my leisure Douglas. :))
