But there's more. It WAS a suicide, but the murdered character and David Gale orchestrated it so that he would be tried and put to death so that they could prove that capital punishment CAN get it wrong (ie. Innocent people are sometimes wrongfully convicted)

I remember that Kate Winslet's American accent was quite...special too.
