I heard a rumor that Mark Hamils scar which is visable in star wars was not caused buy a car crash [Edited for legal reasons - AB Editor] is this true?

I heard that he crashed his Corvette not long before filming of 'The Empire Strikes Back' and needed plastic surgery.  Lucas had an extra scene of Luke Skywalker receiving medical treatment on his face to try explain his change in appearance.

This is certainly not true,but another Hollywood rumour.Mark's scar was as a result of his car accident,and without going into details i know this for a fact.
