my Peugeot 206 2003 reg had a full service by my local garage a few weeks ago. since then i've noticed that my car uses more petrol now, even though i use the same route into work etc.

My car has very low milage for it's age and the garage didn't replace with original Peugeot parts.

Could the usasge of cheaper filters (ie. oil/fuel), make my car less fuel effiecient?

Any help would be appreciated.

in theory no...the fuel consumption is governed by electrics,ECUs,sensors and the injection pump itself. The only minor possibility could be the air filter but i very much doubt it would make a great deal of difference. Has the performance increased ??
Hi Muchlovex, to replace Peugeot filters etc, the price you have saved is not that much, Velio Or velo as some call them are Genuine Pug parts, what the Garage seems to be doing is a service on the cheap, believe me it does not work, the fuel filter does not get that s-it up, the main ones are the Air/ Oil, have you checked your fuel usage? or do you think it uses more? have you noticed any UN-familiar noise from the car since the service? Like hissing etc?
Perhaps the brakes are binding. Jack the wheels up one by one and see if they can be spun freely.
Hello, could it coincide with the last fuel price increase? i.e. less fuel for your money.
