Yes it is a village cant remember the name but its very close to where a used i used to live Yeadon, the residents used to get free council tax paid by the tv company, bus loads come to visit mainly old ladies, and there is a farm bordering the village as i remember with a sign saying "Feck Off" this isnt Emmerdale Farm

It used to be filmed in the village of Esholt.

They have now built the village in the grounds of Harewood House near Leeds but I am not sure if it can be visited though.
Have a look at this :

A new village was built to accommodate the new shooting schedule when the series upped to 5/6 nights per week.
Thats it Esholt, right by a sewage works and it stunk, thinking about it the amount of times they have had major incidents in the village,i bet thats why they build a set and that will be a closed one,in the early days of emmerdale it was just a soap that revolved around the farming community how things have changed!
in the olden days pooducat, it was a daytime drama that was only broardcast in the Yorkshire television region! My grandma lived in Todmorden and we lived in Ormskirk and she used to tell my Mum about it in her letters but we didn't get the programme on Granada until the late 70s
When my wife & I & our daughter & husband were on holiday in Yorkshire in 1983 we went to see Emmerdale Village & The Woolpack Pub ( in Esholt Nr Shipley in the Aire Valley ) we were very surprised to see Stan Richards, who played Seth Armstrong.
He asked another visitor to take a 'photo of our little group with himself in the middle, I have tried to post the pic on here but click & drag didn't work & I'm not sure of another method.
